Christine Palmer – Owner/Stylist

I have been a cosmetologist for over 35 years, and although I love every aspect of my career, making my clients feel great about how their hair looks and feels is still my favorite part. There are so many tools today for me to completely change the way a clients hair feels and reacts! Everyday is an opportunity to change a person’s hair for the better! I had never even rented a station until I bought this salon, and I discovered I love being a business owner. I make my own schedule, book my own appointments, set my own prices, and control my own client information. True career freedom!!

I also love education, and I love working with stylists who feel the same!! At Flaunt Hair Designs we’ve had the extreme privilege of hosting the likes ofIan Gavet- Academy on Tour, Amie Breckenrige-Goltz- Director of Education at Scruples Professional Salon Products, Misaki– Artistic Director, J Beverly Hills, Kristin Frei– J Beverly Hills, to name just a few. Staying in touch with new products and techniques is important not only to provide great services to my clients, but also to keep myself and my stylists engaged and excited about what we do. I look forward to showing you what I’ve learned!! See you at the salon!!

Wendy Smith – Nails

I have been in business as a manicurist for 19 years. I enjoy being a manicurist because I like interacting with people. I love the opportunity to get involved in their lives, and they in mine, because we really do become family over the years.
I’ve been at Flaunt Hair Designs for the last year and a half. I love being here and so do my clients!!

My favorite course after getting my license was a Jessica Nail Cultivation Course, where I was trained to be Natural Nail Cultivator. Which is a another way to say, I specialize in, and do only, natural nails.  I truly enjoy helping clients nurture and grow their own!!

Melissa Pentecost – Stylist
Cherry Poppin Hair

I started my  business at Flaunt Hair Designs nine years ago, after working for other people in chain salons. I never felt I had the freedom to  create like I do now. I love the fact that I am in complete control of my business and my craft. I also get to work along side an awesome group of like minded, skilled and talented professionals, whom I call family.
I feel that education is the key to success so I attend continuing education courses whenever possible. My three recent favorites include;
Vintage/Pin Up Styling- I love the look of the hair styles from the 1920’s through the 1950’s. While I had basic training attaining my license, and I picked up a great deal through the years, I really learned a whole lot more tricks in this class. You can bet hose tricks come in handy during wedding season!!
Elements of Balayage– I love the freedom and creativity this technique lets you have, while giving a very natural look to the color service.

Masaki’s Two Day Hands on Cutting Technique– I use these techniques every chance I get. My favorite is his Inside Sliding Graduation, which is a way to give texture and remove bulk, while giving movement without losing the shape of the cut.

I have been a Cosmetologist for 12 years, the last 9 of which, I have had my own business as an Independent Contractor. This gives me the flexibility to set my own hours and prices, control my client information and make my own schedule. Which allows me to be there for my children, and stay active in a career I love. I entered the Beauty Industry when I was 20, at The Make-up Designery in Burbank, CA. I soon discovered, hair and make-up went hand in hand, so I went to Cosmetology school to round out my education.
I feel it is very important to keep up with trends and techniques, so I attend classes as often as I can. Two of my favorite are: the TIGI Copyrightcolour Academy in New York, a 5 day color technique course; and a Balayage course through Loreal Professional in Denver Colorado.

I love using my Balayage skills!! It’s a freehand, method of highlighting, basically hair ‘painting’, that allows me to provide a very specialized, personalized, and customized hair coloring service for each and every client. Whether I come to you for an Onsite Event Service, or you come to me at Flaunt Hair Designs, my goal is the same; to enhance the beauty you already have, through my hair and make-up expertise.
